Questions
How long is a BJJ match?
It depends on belt. Five minutes at white belt, rising to ten minutes at adult black belt under IBJJF rules.
How long should rolling rounds be?
Five or six minutes is the most common in open mat, which matches white and blue belt competition length.
Does the timer do a countdown before the round?
It sounds a bell to start, a warning near the end of the round, and a different bell to finish — so nobody has to watch the screen to know where they are.
Ask your coach to put this on the gym TV. It is free, it works on anything with a browser, and it runs on its own once it is up.
Gyms that want their own name, logo and colors on it instead of ours pay $99 once — no subscription, no per-screen fee. How that works →
